The primary mission of the Department of Economics at this collegeis to provide a high-qualityeducation to thewomen students who joined in economics.

MissionStatement:

 

To prepare students for acquiring applied knowledge of economics to enhance theiremployabilityand entrepreneurship.

The department’s teaching mission is to offer rigorous undergraduate and graduate degreeprograms with emphasis on the relationship of theory to practice, use of hands-on researchassignments, and the use of state-of-the-art educational technology. It places a particularlystrong emphasis on students, incorporating independent learning experiences, extensivestudent-professor interaction, and the maintenance of a friendly, supportive environment forallstudents. Thebasic objectives of our degreeprogramsare:

  • To provide our students with appropriate analytical skills to lay the groundwork forlifelonglearning;

  • To enable our students to become policy-literate and thus be more informed ascitizens;
  • To encourage the use of experiential learning, including cooperative education, as ameans to introduce students to the world of work, reinforce classroom teaching, andassistin the developmentand advancement ofcareer goals;
  • Toprepareourstudentsforsuccessfulcareers asappliedeconomists;and
  • To prepare our undergraduate students for graduate training in economics, law andbusinessadministration.
